We were invited to visit and review Blue Dolphin – as always, all opinions are my own. Do check out my review of Primrose Valley from a couple of years ago too. You can also get an idea of prices too.īlue Dolphin is a great park and perfect for families, especially those with little ones. I’m someone who likes a nosy at a menu before I go anywhere, so here are the photos in case you are the same. The Brigghouse Restaurant Menu at Haven Blue Dolphin ![]() Outside there is a nice al fresco takeaway place that sells waffles, doughnuts and Costa coffee (I can recommend the doughnuts!) If you are interested in their menu, scroll to the bottom of the review. I’ve included a photo of the ‘dirty fries’ I ordered and the gammon and egg that hubby had. Great choice of dishes on the menu and the staff were lovely and friendly. We ate in The Brigghouse Restaurant on our first night. There’s Burger King, Cook’s fish and chips and Papa John’s pizza to takeaway (or have delivered to your caravan – which can be very handy!). Here you could get breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a large bar and restaurant in the central complex – The Brigghouse Restaurant. Here was our entertainment schedule – it changes all the time as you can imagine but will give you an idea. Then early evening family entertainment before the main acts come on stage at around 8 until late. There is family entertainment in these bars from 9.30am until mid afternoon. The main hub in the park houses the pools (there are indoor and outdoor pools), a huge amusement arcade and two very large showbars. We also hired the go-karts because every time we have visited a holiday park the kids have nagged to go on them! (They’ll keep you fit!) We tried out archery and target shooting, and had the same instructor for both who was lovely. Do try and book any activities ahead of time before your trip as I think they book up. Here you will also find the sports hall where many activities take place. The first is at the entrance and is where you check in (you don’t need to get out of your car – they will come to you). I am sure more organised people will have already considered this! However, there is a decently sized shop on the park though that was very reasonably priced too (quite often I find these places overpriced as you are a captive audience!).īlue Dolphin is arranged around two distinct hubs. Toilet paper (there is some supplied but not for the whole weekend). There were lots of things I should have thought to package but didn’t, including: We also had the linen and towels package. The caravan came equipped with everything you would need to cook. There are two bathrooms, each with a shower in the caravan, the main bathroom and an en-suite in the main bedroom. Our room was spacious, again with lots of storage and a nice dressing table. The two smaller bedrooms each contained twin beds, with lots of storage. I particularly liked this stylish larder cupboard and want one at home! There is even a washing machine which will be handy for longer stays. ![]() ![]() ![]() There is an oven and gas hob as well as a microwave and a large fridge freezer. The kitchen is very well equipped (better than ours at home currently during our renovations!), with everything you need. The living area comes with two large sofas and a 40 Inch flat screen TV with Freeview. This is a lovely place to sit on an evening (pack a jumper for cooler nights!). The caravan had a wraparound deck with patio doors at the front leading to a larger deck area with a table and four chairs. It’s a longer walk, but was a quiet and peaceful spot. Location wise, it is one of the furthest away from the centre. We stayed in a silver caravan – 3 Pine Court, which was a fabulous caravan. I’ve broken my review into sections, the caravan, the park facilities and activities and the food offering (all the things I am most interested in!) It’s in a gorgeous location near to Filey and an easy drive to Scarborough, Bridlington or Whitby. On the very last weekend of the summer holidays we had a great weekend stay at Haven Blue Dolphin in Yorkshire. We stayed at Haven Primrose Valley a few years ago ( read my Primrose Valley review here) and had such a great time we wanted to try another of the Haven parks. Haven Blue Dolphin in Yorkshire Review – Last weekend we holidayed in a Silver Caravan at Haven Blue Dolphin near Filey in Yorkshire. ![]()
